About this Album
Fan Review: I came to this band very late and purely on the strength of one outstanding track from their album The Unforgiving …it led me to download that album and two others, Hydra and The Silent Force. Of the three, this one is the least remarkable. It’s full of good, solid rock songs, but none of them hold my attention, but somehow I find myself unconsciously tapping the steering wheel when I play this album in the car. I think it’s fair to say that there are no poor tracks on this album but nothing that stands out …. by their own standards I would call average. Of the tracks on the album, the ones I would highlight the most are What Have You Done, Frozen, Hand of Sorrow and Stand My Ground. The Truth Behind The Rose is also a decent piece of music but seems a bit “movie soundtrack”…sort of like Catherine Jenkins meets Shinedown. However, I think they are worth congratulating them for having the courage to add a piano and vocal only ballad… a slightly haunting sound that provides a nice diversion from the mainstream rock sound.
Overall, it’s a good album worth having, but it’s overshadowed by their other albums The Unforgiving and The Silent Force..
