Album Review Sitra Ahra

I truly like this album. After the brilliant “Lemuria/Sirius B” double album the still strong “Gothic Kabbalah” which had its lengths and qualities, the band is currently back and presents their best album since the improving “Theli”.

But consideration, dear metal heads: While “Theli” was an album build on 75% on weighty and passing metal and 25% musical and exemplary music, it is presently the inverse on “Sitra Ahra”. The “Miskolc Experience” and the line-up changes appear to have impacted the band to go considerably further in their association of metal and exemplary. I was at that point apprehensive that the line-up changes may obliterate the uniqueness of the band and make it change course, but I am exceptionally glad to see that those line-up changes have been a new rebirth for the band and that Therion proceeds with its excursion towards the ideal symbiosis of metal dynamic and force and traditional and musical scholarly class. At the point when you tune in to the album, you feel that this band precisely understands what they are doing and where they need to go. Also, that is the reason this album isn’t a duplicate of the past fills in as “Gothic Kabbalah” as of now began to rehash the style of “Lemuria/Sirius B”, but a truly new fresh start for the enhancing and inventive Swedish band.

Just the still brilliant opener “Sitra Ahra” which interfaces metal and exemplary similarly and the more obscure, heavier short outdated tune “Clamor” help a ton to remember the old style of the band.

Middle age, choral-impacted conventional tunes as the consonant “Hellequin”, the Celtic and exceptionally incredible and glad “Cu Chulainn” or the on Arabian and Persian legends based epic beast piece “Land of Canaan” – to simply specify to 10 out of 10 tunes – address what Therion is today: a receptive, social, verifiable exemplary band who plays very much created musical small scale dramas for certain minor metal impacts.

The album makes its audience journey and find old societies and their legends and the person becomes the shocking vacationer who appreciates the stunning touring visit. Furthermore, after the visit, you have gotten such countless fascinating experiences that you naturally need to journey over and over and watch the photographs of what you have seen again and again. Whenever you have tuned in to the initial four tunes, you can’t not completion this album, you get sucked into a bedlam of colorful impressions, entrancing songs and the music makes a ton of pictures in your mind. Therion makes you dream and regardless of whether the melodies are unpredictable and elaborated, they have are so light and soft that you needn’t bother with more than one attempt to worship this album, to get into its environment. The album is enhanced and reformist without being perplexing, convoluted or stirred up. It is not difficult to listen as well, but you actually find an ever increasing number of components after every hour of joy and the album develops increasingly more on you. Indeed, even the “more fragile” tunes on the album like ” Unguentum Sabbati” which has the absence of the popular certain something or “2012” which begins brilliantly but never goes to the punching feature after its brilliant presentation, fit consummately with the remainder of the album.

This symphonious album is definitely nothing for the normal metal fan, but Therion has never been a band for that sort of metal head. This album is for the more intelligent individuals who are not scared of finding old style drama and orchestra components, bizarre dialects and outlandish societies and who truly take as much time as is needed to tune in to an album in general work in harmony and agreement. You should hear it out while you are lying on your bed, dreaming, finding, taking as much time as is needed, it is most likely no music to tune in to on your mp3-player on your way to the job in the first part of the day. It is very much like a show: The music makes something visual and needs to recount a story and this album is something other than music, it is an idea, it is an aggregation of pictures and words in wonderful congruity, it is a journey into the past: It is a piece of craftsmanship and functions overall. Furthermore, it is absolutely as of now the best album done in 2010 to me.
