Album Review Les Fleurs du Mal
After Secret of the Runes, Therion were somewhat losing it. Lemuria/Sirius B gave the primary indications of a defeat, while Gothic Kabbalah and Sita Ahra affirmed that. Indeed, subsequent to hearing Sita Ahra (which was an extremely hard assignment to do, believe me), I basically believed Therion to be another one of those bands who continue to deteriorate (*cough* Sirenia, anybody?). At the point when I read that the forthcoming Therion album planned to comprise of fronts of ’60s popular music, I felt that they truly hit absolute bottom. Fortunately, I was incredibly, wrong. Regardless of whether you can’t get French, this album is profoundly enjoyable.
The vocals return me to the Secret of the Runes period. There is no ensemble and vocals are not all operatic. I altogether appreciated the vocals on this album. There’s been a lot of progress over Sita Ahra in this office, where the vocals simply stable constrained and cold (and inaudible at certain focuses). Musically, this album resembles a blend of old and new Therion. Consider it a blend of Deggial and Sita Ahra, with more noteworthy spotlight on arrangements by and large.
What I appreciated most about the album, aside from the way that it’s their most enjoyable album in 11 years, is the entire thought. That is to say, you could never anticipate that an operatic metal band should deliver a full-length album with only 60s French pop melodies, okay? It’s virtuoso if you were to ask me. Also the way that they pull the entire thing off brilliantly.

I’m snared on this form of the tune, it’s ideal truly. The first track itself was great, and Therion’s variant added that extra umph.
