About this Album
Pantera The Great Southern Trendkill is groovey, crude, in-your-face, changed and irate. It’s metal finished with a ton of style, filled to the edge with great riffs. Some of them are unadulterated section, exceptionally suggestive of Pantera’s previous vocation. Great drumming and fascinating snares make those truly fun. Be that as it may, the majority of the riffs have a specific stone energy to them. Now and then they sound like something Black Sabbath would have done, other occasions they may help you to remember Kiss, joined with Pantera’s trademark crude score. Drag the Waters and Hell’s Wrath are both genuine models.
Then, there are some quick, outrageous metal minutes – Suicide Note Pt. 2 and the title track are both cheerfully enraged melodies. All things considered, the vast majority of the tracks are extremely snappy, overflowing with energy. It’s a great collection to pay attention to when you’re irritated. Psyche you, it’s not careless – the energy isn’t the lone thing that is acceptable about it.
It’s the rockish riffage that gives this collection its cool factor. It’s not extremely dull. It’s not about Satan, mythical beasts, dead sweethearts and so forth It’s direct, self-assured resentment. It’s likely as “smart” as metal gets. I’m not alluding to the language utilized, however to the substance and style. Pantera The Great Southern Trendkill’s Phil Anselmo is too cool to ever be singing about modest repulsiveness buzzwords. The mind-set relates to that.
My greatest grumbling goes to the more slow, hallucinogenic “songs” – Floods, 10s and Suicide Note Pt. 1. They’re quite deadened. There’s a great Sabbathy riff and an awesome performance, both found on Floods, yet otherwise, these tunes appear to go no place. They’re not awful essentially, they’re simply not extremely intriguing.
The sound on this collection is stunning. Dime’s guitar is very gutsy. It feels sharp as blade when he’s playing higher tones and very chuggy when he’s playing heavier riffs. The equivalent goes for Anselmo – he praises his typical intense singing style with a great deal of shouts and yells. It’s exceptionally differed, snappy and fun. Joined with great riffs, it makes quite a record.
