Album Review
‘Rabbit Don’t Come Easy” is Helloween’s 10th full length studio collection. The band have made a collection, that sounds ageless. The creation is the awesome for the band, yet the music itself has its foundations in the last 30 or so long stretches of rock and metal. Notwithstanding, Helloween don’t sound “old” in the negative significance of the word.
Helloween are more joyful once more, after ‘The Dark Ride’. Probably the most cheerful sounding pieces are altogether too much candy for my ears (fortunately there is no such horrifying presence as ‘The Game Is on’ to be heard here). Yet, all in all, Helloween have made such a monster of a collection, that even the most treats minutes are acceptable. I had difficult time getting into more joyful sounding pieces of the opener ‘Just a Little Sign’ and ‘The Tune’, however the last really has one of those beast riffs in it. Truly, that heavier stuff. Goodness!!! Pretty much every melody have something unique in them, that x-factor which makes an audience go from start as far as possible without sending over any tune. Most obscure melody, ‘Back Against the Wall’, is for reasons unknown a tune I don’t care for, despite the fact that it has an extraordinary chorale.
The music is fluctuating from speed metal stuff to heavier metal and over to balladish bits and even reggae (awesome and monstrous ‘Nothing to Say’), yet at the same time this may be Helloween’s most secure collection to date during its one hour in addition to length. The music is full grown, yet the melodies rock like hellfire. On the off chance that you’ve heard the band’s cover collection ‘Metal Jukebox’, the immortality of the material ought not be such an amazement all things considered. The band’s presentation is proficient in each sense and switches in the line-up haven’t brought on any issues with science inside Helloween. Drums are played by Mikkey Dee (Motörhead, ex-King Diamond), besides on two of the melodies. I as grosskopf Markus’ “meandering” bass playing style, implying that he doesn’t adhere to a solitary note or two. Sascha Gerstner is the new guitar player and sounds expert with Michael Weikath.
Andi Deris improves with each record and I have into his interesting vocals effectively, despite the fact that it took pretty long to occur. He’s ready to deal with high voices and lower parts with no difficulty. His voice to some degree helps me to remember ex-Iron Maiden man Paul Di’Anno. Rough voice, yet Andi has a lot more extensive register. You must have the option to oppose German humor. “Something’s growing in my pants, as she looks into my eyes”, these verses of the opener are only one of the numerous to be heard on the collection. Covers are cool, despite the fact that the designs are somewhat “clever”. Simply sit tight for the unexpected when opening the digipak adaptation…
Helloween have made a charming collection. In case you’re into substantial/power metal, get this, you shouldn’t be frustrated with this group of tunes. Extraordinary summer music, this one!
