This is such a music William Wallace would have tuned in to! You can totally ensure that Wallace and his posse of insane dissidents would have had some good times in a kilt-filled mosh pit not long prior to going out to battle the English. With “Spirit” you can really envision the band remained on top of a glen, with haggis, whisky and kilts, composing tunes and music to prepare for recording (regardless of them being from Switzerland!).
Musically, Spirit has everything. The collection takes off from fiddle and woodwind to lines, whistles and even a hurdy gurdy, joining easily with guitars, bass and quick drumming. Melodies like “Tegernako” and “Of Fire, Wind and Wisdom” are great instances of this, with death snarling vocals, weighty quick guitars and drums mixed wonderfully with the celtic people instruments. Yet, the band additionally has a softer side, and female vocals become possibly the most important factor regularly, quieting the audience down not long before the following impact of amazing metal.
