Apparently Vên was intended to be nothing more than a one off studio project. This project consisted of 10 studio musicians playing traditional celtic instruments (and playing them well) over atmospheric, folk-metal with a sometimes raging death metal edge! The EP was so successful that 5 of the musicians decided to make Eluveitie a full-on band. I’ve gotta hear how they followed up this impressive (though somewhat busy), seriously original debut.
