About this Album

Take Yngwie Malmsteen soloing, make it more varied. Then blend in for certain fascinating and agressive riffs, along with a more unique approach in songwriting, out comes this album. While the neoclassical destroying market became saturated with guitar players that duplicated the same old formula of watered down Malmsteen performances, this comes sparkling as one of the conclusive chips away at the class.

The riffs are grounded on speed metal (with some of them suggestive to Accept’s “Fast as a Shark”, for a lack of better comparison) and in certain occasions these progression onto thrash an area, as, for example, that beast of a riff at the finish of “Burn the Ground”. As for the performances, you got barocque impact, along for certain oriental scales tossed to a great extent, dissonant patterns (those are, notwithstanding, among the least), and so forth A great deal of harmonies between the two guitar players, along with some antiquated lead interchange. The greater part of it works, bringing about one hellfire of an album that, regardless of being so intricate, it catches your attention from start to finish.

As with each guitar shred album, this one a few instrumentals: “Concerto” and “Speed Metal Symphony”, the first being a catchy sythesis not far eliminated from Malmsteen and the second a track that depends on experimentation and tosses some smoother, moderate parts just in case. All taking all things together, suggested for the two fans of neoclassical and speed metal alike. This will not dissapoint. Alexi Laiho wishes he could shred like this.
