Fan Review: This is a really good album…lots of diverse tracks, variations in song style and good use of Sharon Den Adel’s vocal range, who, as well as her own sound, somehow manages to sound like Maggie Reilly in places (vocals on Mike Oldfield’s Moonlight Shadow) and there are repeated shades of Julianne Regan (All about Eve) on several tracks. This is a good selection of hard rock tracks and some more melodic tracks – the band has avoided the temptation (no pun intended) to jump on the hard rock bandwagon in an attempt to compete with Evanescence. I find it hard to pick a standout song from the album, they are all very good, but if pressed I would say my favorite is Memories and I also like See Who I Am, Stand My Ground and Aquarius.
This album is a real grower and could easily be overlooked on the first couple of listens, but stick with it and it will set a seed in your head. At the time of this writing, I’m alternating between this band and Delain on an iPod playlist. Buy it and discover a very good if little known band that deserves to be much bigger.
