About this Album
October Rust is a very consistent albums and one of the greatest gothic metal albums ever recorded IMO. Some of the melodies are quite poppy and there are little bits of humour thrown in here and there. The keyboard work is amazing and gives some songs a majestic feeling, while the guitars have layers of chorus and flange that is reminiscent of Cocteau Twins. The beautiful instrumentation balances out some of the dark lyrics and that’s what makes this such a beautiful album.
