About this Album

Pantera’s “debut” collection, is one move forward in heaviness from their past exertion, Power Metal. As far as I might be concerned, this is likewise the best thing they’ve at any point delivered. While Power Metal was extremely capable, this is raising the bar a lot further and has a more professional clean to the tunes. It’s pretty much a somewhat awesome speed/whip metal collection generally. The Exhorder examinations and ripping off have been truly broke down to death in surveys of this time of Pantera’s profession so all I will say is that the likenesses are indeed there and prominently shown, however that doesn’t change the way that this is one engaged and hard hitting collection.

It needs no an ideal opportunity to warm itself up and goes straight for it in run of the mill metal design, with what could be considered their “flag tune”, the title track. It has the intense disposition, the staple southern sound and all the hostility that you can press into four minutes. Exemplary. It then paces up with “Primal Concrete Sledge”, a short however menacing tune that holds you solidly down to your seat. “Pyscho Holiday” is a more slow, more considered and loosened up melody, while “Heresy” does the polar opposite and whips away with its infuriated riffs. I should make reference to Diamond Darrell’s brilliant leads in the previous melody. “Cemetery Gates” is a semi number of sorts, and is a more extended melody with many various parts to it and a by and large forlorn and solemn environment. I’d say this is the most strange tune here, however has a fabulous vibe. It’s definitely the feature of the collection. Back to the hard and fast whip with “Domination”, mimicking the “Heresy” recipe and keeping up the quality. It’s the equivalent with the two or three tracks. They’re ones that slip the memory the most, however manage to retain something and make all the difference for the collection.

Previously “Medicine Man” brings us back to the “Psycho Holiday” feel again, with the accentuation this time on a more obscure and spiritualist temperament. It’s continued with the angrily charged “Message In Blood” with the foreboding, doomful sections and the incredible riff that holds that all together. “The Sleep” continues ahead with a kind of more a ballady feel, yet in the kind of way “Cemetery Gates” dove into a profound miserable opening. “The Art of Shredding” closes better compared to I’d dread now, it’s a beast thrasher with ripping energy and an offbeat design.

This is undeniably more reliable than the two collections that come after it, and the great tunes come thick and quick. The mid paced and more slow melodies mingle well with the quick thrashing numbers. It’s a disgrace they never retained a similar standard again, however there are many incredible minutes actually present in the Pantera inventory.
