Album Review
This is a somewhat less substantial delivery than state ‘Halo of Blood’, however it’s more melodic. If I were to venture to such an extreme as to state if this is their MOST melodic collection to date, I’d need to disagree on the premise. My contention is that it’s not as fierce as previous collections, be it “Hate Crew Deathroll”, “Follow the Reaper”, et al. It’s like hefty metal mixed with melodic bits. They sure show their influences however, be it thrashers or writers, COB recognizes that they’re main idols were real authors. I just know this since I’m into a wide range of metal and arrangers like Mozart. Some collections sound like classical mixed with weighty metal guitar-work.
However, regardless of that, was this a stage up from their previous? I would state “yes!” resoundingly. The rhythms are really moderate and the music just streams like water may in a river. They simply press as much melody as possible on here and I’m surprised that not more individuals have contributed to reviewing this. Perhaps it’s since COB has been somewhat cliche with their previous few platters. Nonetheless, that doesn’t detract from this exertion, I really am esteeming this quite highly. The leads and rhythms go well together. Alexi impacts on lead guitar (obviously). Yet, this is a more laid back COB discharge. It appears to fall under an all the more perhaps idea collection. I’m not quite sure.
This entire delivery was around an hour in length. It merits the listen to however. The entire path through, that is. The vocals are similar to more established deliveries screaming however not as aggressive. It’s a milder collection as I state, yet it’s still great. Simply remember their influences and a riff or too may have seemed like something you’ve heard previously, yet don’t have the foggiest idea where. That is my view obviously, however that doesn’t detract from the hierarchy of COB riffs. They are solid here and worth listening to. They’ve dedicated their time to making perhaps the most consistent COB collections to date. Everything is in agreement to reason musically.
If you don’t have this yet, or are curious regarding how it sounds, you might need to give it a shot Spotify or YouTube. I’m certain you might think that they’ve completely eased back down (which was my first impression). Be that as it may, when you get into it, you’ll feel the COB vibe to it which may keep you coming back to it to an ever increasing extent.
